Did a quick search for bbq quotes and found these:

“It is better to have burnt and lost, then never to have barbecued at all” – William Shakespeare

“BBQ’ing is one percent inspiration, and ninety-nine percent perspiration” – Thomas Edison

“Always wear something sensible when cooking at the barbecue” – Lady Godiva (I can believe this one…)

          “Spare rib anyone?” – Adam

“Strong the sauce in this one truly is” – Yoda

“The larger the mass of food, the more energy it will take to cook. This energy input should be distributed over a larger time period or the surface of the food will receive a disproportionate amount of that energy” – Albert Einstein

some people just don't deserve the secrets...me

                copied from a football forum-
Depends on what you like, I like the meat to fall off the bone so here's what I do...

Get babyback ribs, use a fork to pull the skin off the back side, then put a generous amount of BBQ seasoning powder on them, both sides. Let them sit in the fridge over night.

The next day, dump a large bottle of your favorite sauce in a huge pot with water and let it boil. Boil the ribs for about 45 minutes to 1 hour, until the meat is about to fall. Let sit for about an hour on a plate.

Fire up the grill and heat them up for about 10 minutes, brush BBQ sauce on both sides.

That's it, they will be so tender you won't believe it. You can also bake them instead of grill if you like or if the weather is bad.

If you like em tuff, don't boil them, just grill them until fully cooked. But they will not be as tender.

All normal people love meat. If I went to a barbeque and there was no meat, I would say 'Yo Goober! Where's the meat?'... You don't win friends with salad! Homer Simpson

Too bad all the people who know how to run the country are busy driving cabs and barbecuing. – George Burns

Man is the only animal that barbecues and has a state legislature. – Samuel Butler

It is not good enough to have a good barbecue grill; the main thing is to use it well. – Rene Descartes

No great barbecue was ever achieved without enthusiasm. – Ralph Waldo Emerson

Don’t bother just to barbecue better than your contemporaries or predecessors. Try to barbecue better than yourself. – William Faulkner

Good barbecue comes from experience, and experience- well, that comes from poor barbecue. – Cousin Woodman
