  • Moink Balls Inventor ??????????

I just joined another site - (like I have the frickin time to do that) cause someone I know asked me to. I see some of the folks here are there also - glad to see I have friends to chat with there too - their Brotheren Site is interesting for sure

There is a member on that site that claims ---- IN HIS SIG line that he is the inventor of the MOINK BALL ----- not doubting anything that site says but when I Wikopedia it I can not find a reference to him or the Moink at all - I was sure that it came from here or SMF from an old post I saw somewhere

Can someone help me out here? I hate to walk into a new forum and call a guy with a lot of posts and a lot of arrogance a liar but it would not be the first time I made myself popular calling someone out

Saw MOINK balls at the BBQ Brethren LONG before I saw them here. And I saw them here LONG before they ever made an appearance on SMF.

The BBQ Brethren is one of the if not the biggest and longest running BBQ forums on the Internet.

If there is someone with lots of posts at the BBQ Brethren claiming he invented it, he probably did.

Cause if he didn't, there are plenty of folks at the Brethren who would call him out.

Thanks Dave - I appreciate the heads up - this guy is so arrogant that I really wanted to smack him down -- I have read several of his posts and find him to be very self serving - Oh well - thanks again for setting me straight

There are a few members over there who are like that. There are also several members over there who would fit that description that are an absolute wealth of information if you can get past their writing style.

Also, the established members of the Brethren have a lot of respect for each others knowledge and individual styles. I don't think you would have "made yourself popular" by calling anyone out. Glad I was able to stop you.

Dave is right on here... i happen to belong to a few other forums as well, brethren included, dont post much over there but i do know there are some pretty crafty folks there. and also what i have noticed on other forums, they each seem to have there own personality. what you are used to at your select forum that you visit most, may not be the same elswhere. you did the right thing by holding back.

I know the man in question to from over at the Brethern. I don't post there very often either. But I have gotten lots of ideas from the folks there. Maybe he is the originator or not. I do know I saw it there first before I saw it here. But it wasn't until I saw it here that I first tried it. MOINK is my grandsons favorite thing to come off the smokers here. He makes his own and puts little chunks of cheese in his. If it gets a 7 year olds attention its a good thing if ya ask me. Darn things are cheap and easy to make and have great taste for their size. Almost like a "fattie nugget".

                  Big Mista is Neil Strawder.

But, like I said, the Brethren goes back a long way and they are very effective at "self-policing" claims made by members. If his claim is going unchallenged, then it is most likely true.

Yes, that would not have ended well.

Yup, it's true. Larry is the original inventor of the MOINK and has the proof to back his claim. I would not advise ever going to the Brethren site and calling anyone out if you like posting there.
