  • My BBQ Pit Build

Well everyone I haven't posted in awhile but I have been crazy busy building my pit. It has been a pretty long project but I am finally nearing the end.

Here's the pit when I was originally going to leave it as a roll around. The farther I got along with the build the faster I found out it was getting way to heavy.

Starting of all the brace work

Installed scissor jacks at every corner, scored these from an old camper. They make the trailer crazy steady.

    Forming the wood rack

Early stages of the drop down deck. I wanted to add some width to the trailer without having a permanent thing, so I came up with the drop down side. Adds a little over 2'

Here's the drop down section with the expanded metal on

The rack for the blocks that I'll use for the jacks under the bottom

Removable grille in the fire box

    Bottom painted

    Everything else painted

Top of the wood rack I will use for a prep area. Attached a piece of aluminum to it

I'll post more as I continue to finish it. If you have any questions about the build just ask I'll be happy to talk about it

      Looks well thought out...Great work...
How big is the cooking chamber? Looks to be 20 inches or maybe 24...
Big enough to do the trick...

It's a 20" pipe and 4' long. I really tried to think of everything when I went to designing. I didn't want any regrets once I was done with it, so far I feel I've achieved that.

Thank you. I really thought the drop down was a nice touch. The drop down section also has scissor jacks as well, allowing you to get good and stable no matter what surface you're on.

Will do for sure! I'm going to hopefully get on some wiring tomorrow. Have a couple tricks up my sleeve on lighting.
