  • Rotisserie Smoker

I have been thinking about building a rotisserie pit in a 43” long section of 30” dia propane tank
I’m thinking maybe four rotating grates, somewhere around 11”x40”.
Does anybody have a source for design help?
I will be trying to figure out the geometry involved, where to locate the axis, drop length, etc.

    Thanks!

that..is a project. Gear...chain drive. Pivoting trays. I’ll say make the main shaft hefty. Maybe a mid bearing. Hmmm...

This sounds awesome. If you are anywhere close to Dallas, I’m down to help.
Side plates to the main frame and also to the trays could be laser cut making things identical. Carrier/pillow block bearings would support the weight no problem.
Probably would need some type of gear reduction to get thing moving slow enough.
        Time to consult the google

Surpluscenter.com looks to be a decent resource for gear reduction, sprockets, carrier bearings etc.
Mcmaster.com has pretty much everything mechanical on this planet.
          Found this image pretty quick.
