  • Bottom Sirloin Burgundy Pepper Spoon Roast and Raspberry Chipolte Pork Tenderloin

    Had to work this weekend so didnt have much time to prep so after work Sat I stopped at the market and picked up some meat for the smoker. Got this "Spoon" roast for 3.48 a lb.


    Was on sale at the counter and was already marinated.


    I also got a cupla chunks of tenderloin, pork that is...


    They were also premarinated with a raspberry chipolte concoction.


    Did them up on the WSM. Used some cherry wood.




    Messed around a bit trying to figure out the grain on it, is kind of two halves with grain running different directions.


    As you can see I ended up cooking it to Fishawns wifes specifications. A tad overdone but it was still nice and juicy.


    The pork i held off putting on as I knew because of the size it would not take as long.


    Very tender and juicy also. I really like this raspberry marinade thing they did with it.


    Served on plain ol boughten dollar buns. For the price its a tough call on which would be better, this or a tri tip. Great flavor and nice tender roast.


    Great sammies, just meat and bread.

    That looks like some tasty meats you got going on there. I'd like to try those raspberry loins. Also how'd ya like the in store pre-marinated stuff? I usually find that sort of thing a little salty, and they also tend to burn on me somewhat as they are sometimes loaded with sugar. Just wondering your experience?

      I added nothing and thought they were pretty good the way they were. That said, i am a saltaholic and do love salt.

            Miss this last month, E, but both look fantastic and I know they made some awesome sandwiches. Never seen anything raspberry chipotle my way but it sure sounds good.

                              Looks great Erain!!!! Love the pre marinated tenderloins... cherry is good too if you find them, but I do like the raspberry also.
