  • Nube here saying Hi and looking for some guidance

HI All Im real glad that I found the forum here. You all seem to be a tresure trove of guidance and knowledge. So the Dr says the carpoltunal from the last project is undercontroll so I figured that it is time to test the helth insurance policy again and start building a smoker.
The woodfired oven, slab and deck almost killed me over te past 2 years but we would realy like to build a masonary smoker to finish out the cooking appratis in the out door kitchen. So I have been looking around for some ganaric specs but cant seem to find anything worthwile. we would like to cold smoke and smoke (cook) with the same thing. I have crappy stand up tin thing that runs on propane which i thought was a neat idea but I dont think you can cold smoke with that design so I was hoping that you folks had some basic dimentions and flu designs you could help out with. I serched the forum but I must not have been using the correct wording because I couldent seem to find anything. so any help would be great
Ill try to figure out how to post pics here then I can show you what kind of space we are working with
    so thanks in advance

you can cold smoke in pretty much anything look up amaze-n-smoker.
I've probably spelt it wrong but tod (guy who makes it) will probably be along to spell it right :-)

Can't recall any brickbuilt hot smokers - but can't think of any reason why not. It would be well insulated so should be an efficient unit.
Hmm wonder why ryan/unclehonky hasn't built one yet

        But think along those lines!

Welcome aboard my friend....if you want advice on a build, I would suggest that you PM member Got14u. He is a master builder of magnificent smokers.
Sorry if I left anyone else out, but as far as I'm concerned Jerod is the man.

So here are some pics fo the space, sorry about the mess I just finished the railing and had to move stuff to the slab. also the wood is not going to be kept their on the 2 sides of the oven it goes in the back yard bit I had it delivered last winter and that was the only place I could get at it . it was a wild winter in upstate NY.
So any help or sugestions would be great.
