Couple years ago I posted about my GMG failing and tech support not being much help. I did fix it.

The problem ended up being the multi connector that goes to the control board.
Well recently I was smoking a butt and noticed after 20 minutes the unit had turned off. I restarted it and 15 minutes later had no lights on the controller, butts went to Weber. I finally tore in to it remembering the previous adventure, pulled the control board. Ziggled the multi and the lights blinked on and off. Looked like this,

Note the discoloration

Side view,

Unhooked the power!
Pulled the connector off the board. on the opposite side from the clip there are slots (sorry no pic). I put a jewelers screwdriver in the end slot and pressed the clip that holds the metal part in, pulled it out. I bent the contact point out with the screwdriver. This end wire is the power input. After making sure it now made solid contact, I reassembled and tested. Left it run for 1/2 hour, several cycles. Turned it on and off several times seems to be fine.
If you call tech support they will tell you it is the thermal sensor or the control board. Try the multi pin before replacing the sensor or board.
Sorry I didn't get better pics of the connector apart, not going back in.
IF it fails again, I could maybe replace the metal sleeve connector.
Next step after that will be soldering it, trying to not do that.
Hope ya don't need this!
