  • Pork Neck Bones

So while I was digging through the freezer to get out the ham... I came across a package of Pork Neck bones.... I have eaten a lot of pork in my life but have never been served neck bones... I was thinking about tossing them on the smoker hinkified and then into some beans???

Are there any good recipes you all have for neck bones that you would be willing to share... does not necessarily have to be BBQ either... I am open for options here>>

never seen them for sale on even on telly.

I guess it would be pretty tough meat - pigs have big heads so it's hardworking muscle.

maybe wrap in bacon and cook long and slow.

In NZ the Maoris make " boil up "
It tastes a lot better than it sounds lol.
I make it a bit myself and love it.
It basicly consists of smoked pork bones, fresh pork bones"meaty ones" bone in brisket chunks is common as is lamb neck or shoulder chops.
Basicly get a large stock pot and brown of the meat and bones of choice and remove.
Then throw in sliced onions, carrots cut into chunks and large chunks of potato.
Put the meat back in and a bit of soy and cover with wAter.
Bring to the boil then turn to a simmer and when the meats almost ready ad sweet potato, big chunks of pumpkin or marrow and some collard greens or cres.
Cut a large cabbage in half and leave the core intact and cut into wedges without cutting right to the core so it stays intact, put this I top of the other stuff with lid on until tender the devide amongst bowls, put the pot in the middle of the table and dig in to the meat veges and soup
It's realy good simple comfort food
