  • Candied Bacon

My mom found this recipe and made this goodness for a Thanksgiving appetizer. Holy hell was it good. I had a pound of bacon in the fridge and the ceramic fired up so it was a perfect match. The recipe calls for thick cut bacon, my package was regular and it turned out well but the next round will be thick cut

Hmmm. Might be a bit sweet for my taste but that wouldn't stop me from trying a piece or two.

Hmmm. again...Maybe some chocolate instead of the maple...Hmmm.

You don't have to go to that much trouble.

Pick your favorite high sugar ratio BBQ rub and season both sides well. Drizzle good cane syrup, maple syrup, or molasses over over the top. Put in your pit at 325° or less so you don't have to worry about the sugar and syrup burning. Cook away until you reach your desired degree of crispness.

It was called pig candy when I first saw the recipe.
