  • Six pack of Butts

Did these up last weekend for some friends. Prepared a few different ways, brines and rubs being the differences. Finally got my ThermoWorks Singals connected to the interwebs and left the house for a few hours. I didn’t have it set up to run the blower fan as I don’t have the adapter made, I just set the vents and let it run. I do believe the grate probe gave up the ghost so I switched to the backup. The top super squiggly line shows the grate temp, the lower three lines show meat temp at different levels in the smoker. Very pleased with how consistent temps are top to bottom.

Slick gizmo there...I’d be nice to have something like that...heck..if only for a “remote” alarm should the cooker crap out for any reason while yer running errands or whatever.

      I hate when that happens.

You know dude, you put a lot of work into developing that smoker. The end result speaks well of your success. Nicely done. I just might have to do some thermoworks shopping. Never hurts to have new tools to play with.

Real nice ! Thanks for posting the Signals screen. It is on the short list to replace a tappacue I have unless I find replacement probes.

I have a wi-fi one from BBQ Guru and it wasn’t the easiest interface so I stopped using it on my ceramic. I’ve had the Signals unit for almost a year but have never used the wi-fi as I rarely leave during a cook and the Smoke X4 maintained signal at my apartment pool. Had a super busy weekend and decided to set up the Signals. Super easy set up. About 3 hours into the cook, I got a warning from the app stating the grate temp probe was potentially bad based on the erratic readings with a link to their website to order a new probe. It made sense as I had a second grate probe already in the smoker and I couldn’t remember why I had 2 when I started the cook. I switched to the second probe and never saw that message again. My next goal is to make the adapter plate to mount the Blower. With that, I think I’m comfortable enough to let it run overnight
