  • Anybody tried Treager's Orange brine turkey rub kit??

This year I have already purchased 2 packs of Treager's Orange Brine and Turkey Rub kit. So, I guess I am now committed to smoking 2 turkeys that have been in this brine solution. In reading the brine instructions I see that there's some bourbon and some Grand Marnier involved.
    I thought it sounded good.
What about you folks? Anyone tried this recipe? If so, what did you think?

By the way I now have a Yoder 640s pellet grill on order. My Traeger Texas pellet grill gave me good service for several years but it's time to retire it. I was considering getting either the Rec Tec 700 or the Yoder 640. I opted for the Yoder. The two turkeys will be one of the first cooks on it.

Welcome and Greetings from Tulsa, OK. It sounds great to me. Maybe get a chicken and test drive the brine solution for a flavor analysis and only put the rub on one half of the chicken? You also could just serve the bourbon and Grand Marnier to your guests and everyone will think it's delicious by the time it is to eat!

And a good compounded butter under the skin is great addition.

Some days I think Bravo Zulu, other days it's more like Whiskey Tango Foxtrot...
