  • The Sriracha Apocalypse is upon us

After I saw Pete's post on the Sriracha salt, I remembered seeing this article...If you are out of Sriracha or on the end of a bottle, you may want to go grab one. The Rooster Sauce has been put out of business and can't ship for the next month. LINK TO STORY

Huy Fong Foods Sriracha sauce is only one of many. It is also not one of the higher rated Sriracha's on the market. Not to worry

Yeah, but definitely one of the most easily obtained. Of the several that I have tried, I actually like it the best. Here is a link to a taste test shoot out of the different Srirachas

I currently have Lee Kum Kee Sriracha in my fridge...Definitely like the Huy Fong better.

          Agreed, but not anymore
I've been trying different Srirachas for awhile now (hot sauce addict exposed )
Sky Valley Sriracha is my latest (all the way to the left). Ask yourself if Huy Fong is the best, or just the product you are most familiar with.

way too many chemicals and preservatives in Huy Fong, im not losing any sleep over them closing down - unless they change their recipe...

Roosters is all I use, have to drive 60 miles for it. Love the stuff. I can get kikkoman brand closer, but one taste the bottle got tossed, horrible. I better stock up when I'm in Omaha.

I've got a full bottle in my pantry so I should make it through these rough times. That is unless I make another batch of Rooster pickled Eggs. Then I use almost a whole bottle so maybe I will stock up with another bottle.

Well, they're not shutting down completely. Supposed to resume shipping after the 30 days is up. Either way, they'll figure something out to continue making it. Too many people love it. It's pretty much the only thing in Asian restos and Pho houses around here. I'll eat it, but it's not my favorite. Too vinegary.

I've been trying different ones. Didn't care for Kikkoman at all. The one I do like, so far, is made by Dynasty. Look at on-line reviews and folks slam it. I don't know why. Not as vinegary, but not sweet. They claim there's no heat. Christ how much do you need? Plenty hot for me. It's more about flavor to me.

Just had a Trader Joe's open near me. Read that ranking a while ago. Had to buy a bottle of their Sriracha sauce. Only got to try it once so far. Liked it. It is sweeter, but does have good heat. We'll see.

Truth be told, the others brands probably ran the rooster out of business by lodging the complaints to gain market share.
