Blues Hog Smokey Mountain Sauce...

So I needed some more of the Tenn. Red sauce so I figured I would give the Smokey Mountain Sauce a try since I heard that it was pretty good.

Pulled out some pulled pork and made a nice sandwich with slaw and the Smokey Sauce. The sandwich was very good needless to say...

The sauce was nice as well. It is VERY thick! It has a very lite smokey flavor and and is very similar to the original Blues Hog sauce. Next time I will cut 50/50 with the Tenn Red as I do like a thinner sauce. This sauce as about as thick as sweet baby rays... which i know many like but it just does not do it for me.. okay in a pinch... but anyway back to the sauce. the Smokey Sauce has the typical sweet first taste then a mild smoke and then a very light heat on the back end.. and very light heat, probably from just the CBP in the sauce.

Well would I buy it again.. yes...I do have a source to get the Original without having to pay the shipping so that is the plus. But the one of the kids and wife likes their rub as well so when I buy from them I will get a jar or two as well. If you see some in the stores then feel free to pick up. well worth the 4.50 a jar price.

I think I tried that cut with the red 50/50. Was pretty good but the truck dealership sells it for $8.95 a jar, didn't like it that much

yeah I bet they do if they have to get it shipped in and then make a buck or two profit...Ace Hardware sells the original for 4.50... I buy them out in the spring...when they have the 20% all you can fit in a bucket.. takes it down even more to about 3.60...
