salted, but they usually have to wet them down to get them apart.

I will also say, the ones that I have purchased have been from Cabela's & Outdoor Warehouse (local stores, sold @ room temp off of the racks), Amazon (shipped ambient temp, prolly 3-5 days in transport) .... Put them in the fridge for a bit before you open & use them would be my advice from a stink standpoint

I just finished up a hank of the 18mm for slim jims for stocking stuffers and they were a major PITA! Never saw anything more prone to tangles and knots like that hank was. The second hank I went to 18mm collagen! The bigger ones seem to be fine but the 18mm just sitting in the water tangled and knoted. In all my years I never saw anything like it.
        Smokers:
ECB -The Brinkman All-In-One Bullet type Water smoker aka -Baby Bink)Camp Chef Smoke Vault 24 Inch propane smoke (aka -Black Beauty)
SunJoy horizontal with left side firebox (aka - Lefty Lucy)
River Grille - Black Ceramic Egg (aka Black Egg)

Smoke preference:Combination of Charcoal, Hickory, Apple, Cherry & Pecan wood.

I have had a bag like that also , almost like they were magnetically attracted to each other & would tangle like crazy just taking them out of the bag...

I have not yet ordered B & P 18-20mm+- (or whatever they have) casings to date.... Anyone have any experience with the B & P Sheep casings?

Yes, they stink and are generally a PITA.

I know Minnbill has, and I just got done doing a batch of hotdogs using B & P's 24-26 mm sheep casings. There were a few cuss words used. What a tangled mess.

Used some LEM 20? mm sheep casings for breakfast sausage, and they were no better.

I'll post some stuff later this week. Still slicing, packaging and need some sleep.

I order some of those pretubed ones last night after reading ... dang someones post ... sorry I forgot who but thanks for the link to Syracus Casings. Hope their sheep casings work better than the last few I got. I hate sheep! Got my butt kicked and arm broke by one as a kid but they do make the best slim jims and hot dogs (IMHO).

We haven't had good luck with any of the natural casing from Butcher Packer - smell, blow-outs, all around not the quality we were after. We have only ordered the 20mm in the sheep from them but have ordered other sizes in the hog. Another thing with BP is their shipping to ND was terribly slow.

Haven't ordered from them now for about 5yrs - we switched to the sausage maker for all of our casings and have had much better results.

I got some 20 mm sheep cases from the sausage maker, they were ok but they were a pita to flush, easily burst and the usual tangle. I prefer the 19 mm smoked collagen cases for my snack stix, the sheep cases get used for tiny breakfast links.

I have had problems in the past with LEM casings. But I switched to Syracuse Casing preflushed tubed casing and they are awesome. I'm thinking I'm going to try their sheep casings. 41 bucks per hank.
