steel bowl question

  • steel bowl question

    I mixed up my snack stick meat cure and seasoning.Put in stainless bowl and covered for the night.I usually use plastic bowl.Will using metal bowl with the cure hurt anything?Thanks for your time again.

    Stainless, be fine. Aluminum not so much good.

      Thank you,I just stuffed it while waiting for an answer.I knew there was something wrong with metal and cure but forgot what.Thank you again!

        Stainless is pretty impervious to most anything. Chlorine can mess it up, tho. So no extended contact with bleach/products.

        Aluminum is one of the most reactive metals on the planet. Always beware any acidic/saline/basic things in them over time..or under heat. And obviously cast is a no-no..and copper as well.

                SS would be fine. But I mix my spices/cure/liquid into my meats then stuff right away,they stuff much easier, I then let the stuffed and linked sausage sit overnight in the fridge to meld the spices and set the links. It works for me.
