  • Easy Mac and Cheese

Guys and Gals I am looking for an easy cheesy Mac and Cheese Recipe that I can feed 160 people next weekend. I found a recipe that says this will feed 100 so I thought about just doubling the recipe, however I suck at using flour in recipe's and usually it thickens way way way to much and I do not want any flour in the recipe. Anyone have an easy mass Mac and cheese recipe that doesnt use flour!!

This is the one I found

    Macaroni & Cheese For 100

    INGREDIENTS:
    8 pounds elbow macaroni
    8 pounds velveeta cheese
    1 1/2 pound margarine
    3 cups flour
    2 gallons milk
    8 teaspoons salt
    1 teaspoon black pepper
3 packages (large size) shredded Cheddar cheese

    DIRECTIONS:
Cook macaroni; rinse and set aside in long shallow pans. Melt margarine and add flour, salt and pepper, also add milk; cook, stirring constantly until smooth. Add Velveeta cheese, stir until well blended. Pour over macaroni; sprinkle with Cheddar cheese and bake for 1 hour at 350 degrees F.

Skip the flour, milk and margarine, and go with a #10 can of cheese whiz or nacho cheese sauce. Might take a can and a half, but you wont have to make a faux bechamel sauce.... Good luck!

Prolly good advice here... don't mess with it. And add a couple pounds of fried out bacon crumbles.

Awesome!! so 2 of the 6.62 lb cheddar cheese sauce cans at sams would be perfect so the new recipe would look like this??

        8 pounds elbow macaroni
        8 pounds velveeta cheese
1 #10 can of sam's cheddar cheese sauce
        8 teaspoons salt
        1 teaspoon black pepper
3 packages (large size) shredded Cheddar cheese

I may even add some garlic and onion powder to it

Some toasted breadcrumbs on top, or better yet, some of the French fried onion things that are more commonly found on top of green bean casserole might add a bit of flair.....

Got a place here that uses crumbled potato chips..added in the last few mins of the bake. Nice touch too.

Incidentally, the cheese sauce also works great for Augratin potatos for a large group......

Agree and here I was gonna suggest 75 boxes of Kraft I'm going to have to try this recipe. I always hated homemade Mac n cheese, it came from the school cafeteria, dreadful stuff. Might try it Sunday maybe my taste have changed.
