  • Krab/pasta salad

So full disclosure. I cannot afford real crab to put in a salad. This is made with Krab(which is surimi, which is minced fish flesh). This will work with shrimp, real crab, lobster, crawfish meat etc. Also spices are totally adjustable. Add some madgp, or hot whang. Old bay if you prefer. Very flexible prep.

    OK the recipe...
8oz Krab, I was able to find some in large chunks that was supposed to imitate crab legs so I just chopped it up.
    3/4 cup +/- mayo
    8oz frozen peas
    1 red bell pepper diced
    1/2 a red onion diced
1.5 cups cooked pasta. I used macaroni
    worstershire sauce
    mustard I used stone ground
    juice from 1 lemon
    2 teaspoons Penzey's Northwoods seasoning
    1 tsp garlic powder
    salt/pepper to taste

    Dressing:
Combine mayo, spices, lemon juice, a few dashes of Worster sauce, and a good dollop of mustard. Set aside in fridge.

Chop(if necessary) Krab (or whatever you use) up into the size you want.

Prep onion and pepper. You can use whatever you like celery would be good, but I didn't have any.

just give peas a good rinse under cool water so they're not frozen rock hard

Cook pasta to package directions when done drain/rinse/drain well.

Combine all ingredients and let sit in fridge for at least 2 hrs to let it come together. After two hrs taste for missing spice, or if it needs more mayo.

Makes a great side, or as a topping to salad greens.
