The Irish Maid is a refreshing and easy-to-whip-up cocktail with an Irish twist. You can dress it up with a nice bit of garnish, or you can leave it as is and let the taste do the talking!
Ingredients. If you can get the maid to make it naked. You are ahead of the group. cheers..
Instructions
Step 1: Prep your glass
You’ll see this step in all of our Irish cocktail recipes. However, in this one, I’m going to recommend that you take your glass, 1/2 fill it with ice and leave it sit.
The glass can chill away while we get our Irish Maid mixture ready.
Step 2: Muddle 2 slices of cucumber
Take your cocktail shaker or your protein shaker and pop 2 slices of cucumber at the bottom. Then use the end of a wooden spoon to gently muddle them.
To do this, simply press down on them and twist. This will release the flavours nicely.
Step 3: Assemble your mixture in the shaker
Pour in the whiskey, the elderflower liqueur, simple syrup and the freshly squeezed lemon juice on top of the cucumber and then 1/2 fill the shaker with ice.
Shake hard until you feel the ice start to break up (or when you feel the shaker become chilled!).
Step 4: Strain, garnish and serve
Empty the ice out of the glass you had chilling and strain the Irish Maid mixture on tip of it. You can then either garnish it with a slice of cucumber or a thin slice of orange
