Half Clamato, half tomato juice, kicked up with some MHHW on the rim and in the glass, and a few munchies.....

        Here's mine:

Fill a glass half full with ice
Open a can of tomato juice and pour it directly down the drain
Dispose of can outside of house so it doesn't stink up the place
Add vodka to glass with ice
        Consume

        Never could stand bloody marys

There have been summers that I had a lot of Roma Tomatoes...into a food service pan and into the smoker. smoked tomatoes make great sauces and salsas...it also leaves a nice smoky tomato juice in the pan that would rock when applied to bloody mary purposes.

Never been a big fan of bloody marys. But if this gal came over and made them for me....... I could suffer through a couple.

I use Spicy V8 as the starting point, black pepper, Worchie sauce, celery seed, and add a clausen dill pickle spear.

what do you bloody Mary drinkers add to the mix?

All good lookin stuff gang, but for my money it's all about Bloody Marias. Just substitute tequilla for the vodka. Try it you'll like it. And if I have to go vodka its always with citron.

Like someone said earlier in the thread I prefer to drink my vodka straight.

If I'm going to make a bloody anything though, I prefer a Bloody Maria, close to the same thing as a Bloody Mary but made with tequila.

After tasting Sangrita and tequila in Mexico every morning the bartender at our hotel gave us the Sangrita recipe. Sangrita is a chaser for straight tequila. You take a sip of good tequila, enjoy the complexities, then chase it with a sip of Sangrita. There is a flavor explosion in your mouth that is enhanced by the fading tequila. It is truly different than just drinking the tequila or the Sangrita.

I make my Bloody Marias with Sangrita, but really prefer to drink the tequila and the Sangrita separately. When I do make a Bloody Maria though I use Sauza Conmemorativo Anejo (best anejo value on the market) or Trader Joe's Zapopan Reposado (best reposado value on the market at $9.99 for 1 liter and pretty dang good!)

                        Sangrita
                        2 cups Tomato juice
                        1/4 cup Orange Juice
                        1/4 cup Lime juice
                        1 Tbs Grenadine
                        1 tsp Tobasco sauce
                        3 tsp Worcestershire sauce
                        Salt and pepper to taste
1 tsp Maggi Jugo Meat Tenderizer
                        White wine to thin

                        Bloody Maria Recipe
2 shots Anejo or Reposado tequila, never Blanco (white, unaged, basically Mexican moonshine)
                        8 shots Sangrita
                        Lime and/or orange garnish.
                        Stuffed green olives work too.

Honestly, I don't measure the tequila or the Sangrita. I just pour about 4 times as much Sangrita as I do tequila.
The big oak tree in my backyard ain't just for shade any more since I started smoking meat!
