1 part drambuie
2 parts glenfiddich 12 yo

build over ice in a rocks glass and stir. Garnish with a lemon twist.

Created in the 1930s,the rusty nail has been a cocktail crowd favorite for nearly a century. After rising to become the drink du jour of the new york club scene in the 1960s,the rusty nail was soon adopted by celebrity icons of the era.

Deep in the virgin jungles of the Darien gap in central America, I always took a bottle of Drambuie and a Bottle of fine scotch and some cups. normally a week to ten days hunting. when we would rest for the night, Indian young girls would come around. ( I found out that they were infatuated with my long golden hair) So, with that in mind I had fun. they became our bartenders. lol. I taught them how to make us the Clavo oxidado, They love it and fought silently to do it for us. they were so cute and very respectful. I would get their hand and put it on my head. They laughed and giggled so hard. and turned out to be dammed good bar tenders. the garnish was some kinda weird jungle bug that was attracted to the sweet.lol. great unforgettable times. BTW it was cold and wet in the 4 canopy's of the jungles. those drinks hit the spot and were enjoyed by all.

On vacation in the Caymans once, ordered a 12 yo Macallen over one cube of ice. What I got was someone else's Rusty Nail. Not tasty at all when you're expecting some other kind of drink
