  • Automatic bizerba meat slicer

I found this meat slicer ( Automatic bizerba meat slicer Model SE 12 D) locally and the guy wants $200 for it. I know absolutely nothing about slicers so does any one have any input on it or know anything about these slicers? Is worth the $200? :no idea:

I'd give him $200.00 in a heartbeat. That's 1/10 the cost of this one.

I don't know anything about that brand either but if it works I'd say it's definitely worth it. See if you can go get a demonstration before you buy it.

$900 is cheapest I've seen it on ebay.

My guess is that it's stolen - so get it quick

IIRC a very good european brand and well worth the price if all is in order. I believe it will be a heavy, large beast.

Not to be a curmudgeon but I would want to know why he is selling it. I don't like thieves and don't deal with them on purpose ever! Well, except the government and that's without choice ;)
Whenever I buy stuff on Craigslist, I always ask. If the answer sounds funky and I think it could be stolen I pass. Next time they could be stealing from you to sell to someone else.
I rub it every chance I get!

                  true and good points.

probably just a shop or house clearance and he doesn't know what he's got.

I totally agree. I bought a used Weber gasser for my Fire Station the other day & I asked the guy if it was stolen property. He almost crapped his shorts but he said he understood and was not offended (and he said it was not stolen & showed me his receipt).

For sure, there's plenty of legit reasons to sell something for a really low price. Could have been a gift, could have used rewards to "buy" it and then decided not to keep it, could have been a smoking clearout deal. etc.
I like to feel good about a good deal though

I've been in the butcher industry for 20 years... yes this is easly worth the 200 he is asking... it could probably be "re-sold" for a close to a grand, but at 200 you'd be hard pressed to replace it!! Grab it, your "stealing" it :)
