  • My new $45.00 meat grinder.

My uncle picked this beast up at an estate sale for $45.00. The thing weighs a ton, it was all I could do to get it out of the truck. It is an Enterprise Model 2522 #32, 1 1/2 horse, 1750 rpm. It is either 115v or can be wired 220v. I cant wait to give it a spin. I need to come up with a course grind plate for it and it is ready to roll.

Congrats!! My grinder is nowhere near tat awesome but I could never go back to life without owning a grinder. If you've never ground up some brisket or chuck for burgers you are missing out!! I actually grind up some of my home cured bacon in my burgers and its out of this world!

I already have an LEM grinder that I have been using for 5 years. But I think this thing will out perform it by a bit.

Wow I missed the size, I was just going by the model number 2522,, biger is better. Sharp knife and sharp plate and you wont be able to feed it fast enough.

So there is little to no information that i can find on the world wide web about this thing. I have spent the morning trying to find some bits of useful information to no avail. I did find a few images of one just like it that was on an auction sight but that is about it. So i have a question for you guys, it has an oil lubricated gear housing and my uncle said quite a bit leaked out when he was cleaning it up to paint it. Not having anything to go off of, what kind of oil would be suggested to put back in it? My uncle thought something like vegetable oil would do the trick? Any thoughts.

I'm going to guess it would be 80-90 gear lube. There should be no way it should get into the product you are grinding. IMHO

                              Nice score!

Here is what you need, http://www.homesteadharvest.com/stai...t-grinder.html

I added one to our #32 grinder, fits great and a person can never be to safe with grinders.
