Poured some new concrete outside of my garage service door that will become my new smoking / grilling area. It will hold a UDS, Weber Kettle, GOSM and a Weber gas grill. I want to protect the new concrete from any grease spills and looking at grill mats. I was wondering if there is a good material that I could purchase like say a 16-24 foot roll of that would work for this purpose. Any ideas?

I use the backer board for tile Lou. Pretty disposable. Lasts a year at least. Non flammable.
And seal the 'crete before snow flies. In God I trust- All others pay cash...Check out the Mad Hunky and products at https://madhunkymeats.com or https://www.facebook.com/MadHunkyMeats

It's in the tile section , underlayment for tile floors . Cement board that is reinforced with a nylon'ish mesh , comes in 3 x 5 foot sheets . The ones I added this year were just aboot 10$ / sheet but they last and last.
Just food for thought .

This sheet was set down the first year I joined this forum. Note the scrap piece that is great for starter chimneys
Tolerates a bit of weather :
Moved it last year to a new spot and added one more . The wind around here can go round and round and the lil c/g is fussy about that .

Rich , I never thought about using that stuff outdoors. We had a small powderoom that we tiled and had a bunch of scraps left over. I got ticked one day when the rain pouring off the g-rage ( too close to the house and I ain't moving either ) had just made a mud track where we walked . Gotta be going on 8-9 years since I tossed them scraps there , still there today.
michchef , not trying to say the backer board is the end all / be all , but if I just spent a chunk o' change and effort for some new crete I'd be pretty protective of it.
lcruzin , when that cement is cured , do as recommended in other posts and seal it ,even do it twice so ya know it's nice
