  • Sausage Rack for a Kamado

Hi folks not sure this is the right place to post this but here i go anyway.I was wondering has anybody ever seen a sausage rack for a Kamado style smoker,i have a Vision B series and i now have a sausage maker and am looking to hot smoke them.
I made a load of sausages last night(pork apple and sage, pork jalapeno and cheese, pork garlic and parsley,Beef pork bbq rub and chili flakes) and it is to much to fit on my 2 racks in my Kamado.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

    Thanks

Happy Sunday, I don't have a Kamado - However I remember a few posts from awhile ago - (way back) talking about different ideas regarding sausage for smoking.
Here is a link to one that I found http://www.smoked-meat.com/forum/sho...t=sausage+rack
Try searching in the sausage forum, I know you will find a genius way to hang them, from the boys who have done it already!
I swear I remember someone using paperclips as hooks...

I have a primo and found the same problem. So in my hillbilly redneck fix ,I just made a cardboard box big enough for the sausage ,lined it with foil and ran a piece of dryer hose to the box from the top of my primo. It worked great. The problem with kamados is controlling the heat. They don't like to stay under 200 degrees . This way I can control the heat and smoke. Yes I used paper clips lol ! Good luck!

They are uncured sausages so cooking them at 250 to get out of the danger zone quickly. Was hoping that there would be something i could just buy :(

OH yea then you can't use the paper clips either! Maybe you can get a small baking rack with legs to add another layer, and lay them down, not hanging?
