Tatonka Dusted Buffalo Sirlion Tip Roast

  • Tatonka Dusted Buffalo Sirlion Tip Roast

    Was -11º with 23 mph winds today so instead of grilling outside went with the Showtime rotisserie. This was a 4 lb. sirloin tip buffalo roast seasoned with Tatonka Dust and wrapped in Saran Wrap to rest overnight in the fridge.

    After it was on the rotisserie spit added grilling bands to secure the roast.

    Cooked to 145º and rested for 20 minutes for a medium rare.

    Sliced Sirloin tip buffalo roast seasoned with Tatonka Dust and served with mixed vegetables and roasted garlic potato's.

    This was so delicious!

        That does look tasty. How do you go about getting Buffalo up here? Contact a local ranch or did you find it at the store?

        I think I've seen some steaks in the stores up here but not any roasts.

        I've had ground buffalo back home in chili and mixed with rice and fixins, pretty tasty.

        Is it cold yet or is it going to get worse?

          My father in law raises them and the bison pasture is adjacent to 3 sides of our yard. Quite often in the summer they will be almost in our front yard!

          Now it is -13º, wind chill is around -46°.

                  Dang it, you have done that bison proud. Looks like done perfectly, nice and juicey, and i am sure with the Tatonka dust was very tastey!

                      Great looking cook, I hear buffalo is pretty darn good. Never had it but it sure looks good on your plate..
