I couldn't tell the difference but she claims there was something added that was not as good as normal on my cherry smoked MHB, MH chicken. I guess I'll keep my chicken the way it is. I threw in a hand full of shells to my mormal 2 chunks of cherry wood. Any one have experience with these? I have seen a few comments and decided to try it.

I can't say that I've ever used them but I believe I have heard of others using them as well. I guess you got your answer as the wife could tell something was different right away.Propane Smoke Shack

Hmmm, sounds strange. I use them whenever i have them and it makes a lovely aroma. I haven't noticed anything off about the smoke. Did you maybe get some nuts in there with the shells and they burned up? Also, it may not matter but the ones my kids suck on go in the trash and not in the pit. Just the ones that are shelled without an oz. of slobber on them.I rub it every chance I get!

pistachio WOOD would be great, but i would think that pistachio SHELLS would give a bitter smoke. i could be wrong.Fundamentals matter.
