  • Stuffer Motor

Looking at putting a motor on my newly acquired 11lb stuffer, and wondered if anyone here is using/has used this motor?

Cabalas use to carry them, but currently does not. They are available on the web either new or refurbished. I was thinking that there may be a quality issue with them and that is the reason Cabalas is no longer handling them.

    Thanks

yep I bought my 30 lb unit with that motor when it was available , I have not had any problems with mine yet and I love having it , makes stuffing so much easier when working alone ... not sure why Cabellas stopped selling them but I think it was prolly due to probs with the units , I always spray the meat cylinder and piston with a good coating of cooking spray and mix the proper amounts of water in my sausages ... so far so good ... I been thinking of trying to pick up a spare just in case though , as now I'm spoiled and wouldn't want to do without it

        Thanks

I like the foot switch part of it, I run one on my grinder. and was real handy when I was using it for sausage.

Hopefully some other will jump in and give me some good feedback or a hidden place to buy it reasonably.

The Sausage Maker still carries them - http://www.sausagemaker.com/52533mot...newdesign.aspx
That unit is made to fit my Sausage Maker 25 lb. stuffer, I just haven't felt the need to bend over far enough to afford it yet!

            WOW

That has a pretty steep price tag, The one I was looking for is around $200.

I know the sausage dude sells some quality stuff, but thats something I don't think will be in my stable any time soon.

I bought one for my 20#er a few years back. Right out of the box I had issues with it. After talking to a super nice lady at Weston, they paid for the shipping round trip, and had a new one shipped back. For what its worth... when I spoke to weston about the issue, I asked if they have had many problems with them and the lady told me she only new of a couple others out of all the thousands they sold. No probs with the new one so far. I only wish I had one several years ago.

i have one from cabelas, if you ever make sausage by yourself they really work great. also eliminates the need to bolt down stuffer or clamp etc...

yeah, solo sausage making can be tuff. This thing helps a bunch...especially with snack stick stuffing!

I never thought of this advantage. That would be nice.

I agree with this whole heartedly. I always try to recruit a friend or kid to help crank. Often thought about rigging my grinder motor to work on the stuffer.

                      I'll try to find one

I will call weston to see what they are selling them for.

Places on the web range from $180 to $300. Most of the are out of stock.

this would be the busy time for them with all the hunters buying them up.

dont know if you have a cabelas nearby, watch thier "bear cave"... all returns, opened packages, etc... instead of further processinf they just sell stuff there. when i stopped in sydney nebraska on the way out elk hunting i seen one there for 79 bux i think... was thinking of buying it and i should have. should have thought someone here would be looking for one some day...

tell you this much, being able to do it myself with ease amd not having to listen to wife about how cold it is in garage, and never doing it quite right, worth every cent!!!

They are on national back order

I spent part of today tracking one of these motors down.

Weston says it will be "months" before they get them so most places on the net are out of stock.

The few places that do have them all want $300 plus shipping.

Looks like no motor this year or use the Hobart again.

A good idea. Heck, you can even check the online bear cave at Cabelas too if you don't have one nearby

                              Been Checking

I even called ou to the one in nebraska where erain saw one, but it the guy said it was not there.

But i will be checking with all of them, or find some one who has one and can get me some specs, like RPM ect.

I guess if I know the RPM i could make my own setup
