  • Snack Sticks In The Big Chief

Took some Leggs snack stick mix, added 2 T Tatonka Dust, 1 t mom's dehydrated hot pepper, 1/2 cup beer. Smoked with Jack Daniel's Hickory. Took aboot 7 hours. Turned oot pretty good, but still not what I'm after flavor wise. Anybody have any packaged mixes they really like?

Pics not showing up have you tried the chipotle wildfire sticks from Owen's BBQ. Those are great. Everyone loved them. Had perfect heat for me and I don't like a lot of heat.

That's why I like the one I posted about. I've never liked commercial ones. Either too salty or bland where you need to add something. If I'm buying a mix it better be spot on IMO that's why I'll by the wildfire one again its perfect. I've been wanting to try yours. I need to get back to making sausage.

Just a thought, in another thread you referenced a places sticks you like. Maybe they'd sell you some seasoning. I like our butchers pork sausage and they sell their blend. Might be worth a try

                        Good thought......

They do not offer any of their seasonings for sale, at least over the counter, that I have seen ........ They also make an excellent Pepperoni/snack stick made from chicken. At least thats what they advertise it as, not sure whats in it, butt its almost as good as the regular stuff...... Same place Rob (Wingman) bought a lot of stuff from to ship to the troops...... Been around forever, and even on a morning/afternoon/evening, when you walk in, you gotta get a number to get service..... Folks come from all over to get stuff

It might be a touchy subject to bring up, ours doesn't sell it on the counter but on the receipt of the hog we had butchered they have it listed to buy. Never have bought any cause we get enough from butchering.
