  • My meat mixer in action

This is the mixer I made. This demo really does no justic to what it can do as you can hear I really never lay into the throttle of the drill for just mixing spices with the cubed meat before grinding. If you really want to see some meat really fly, this thing tears it up when I have the venison, and pork already ground and I put both in a bucket with spices and some water (or beer) and let it rip. In that use I am mixed and ready to stuff a 12LB batch in about 25 seconds. I plunge a few times and then hold it to the bottom and let the bucket spin between my feet some like it was a mix master. More than 12 pounds gets really hard on my drill, and 10LB batches are best. Here is the link to the video where i just used it gingerly to mix up some cubed meat.

That looks like the mother of all immersion blenders. Sharpen those blades and you could emulsify meat for hot dogs on a major scale.

Nice gadget - got to be a whole lot easier to clean than the big square meat mixers.
Use a stainless steel ucket and I bet it'd pass certification as well (hell might with plastic - have to find out).
                for that.

Just a thought but would one of these standard paint mixers work as well do you think ? (obviously I'd need a big arse drill)
Probably have to remove the paint job on the blade - but at that price - who cares :-)

Hell a decent sized stainless steel bucket or bin and you've got a top noch meat mixing set up for a very sensible price.

Really, i wish i had a video of how it kills a 10lb batch of fresh sausage when everything is pre-ground. It does in 25 seconds what your hands take 5 minutes, without the frozen fingers and washing the grease of your hands with Dawn....

So I am retarded. I still cannot figure out how TX embedded that video. I tried doing it in another post as practice and cant get it. Anyone help with more detailed steps on what to click?

key is to have a TALL bucket unless you like meat all over the place. As you can hear in the video I never really opened the thing full throttle because of the big chunks are harder on the drill. Now, Pre-ground meat for say, brats or Italians I add water or beer and really let it rip. Yes you need a 1/2 inch drill or a quality 3/8 with a 2 speed gearing that many have would probably work too, but I found that more than 10pounds gets to be some labor on the drill, 15 pounds is do-able, but 20 pounds was a drill death wish on the harbor freight drill i have.
The paint mixer is where I got the idea from actually, but the paint surface and possible rust if removed afterwards made me just build one from stainless. But i do think the one you posted would work, but the rust is the problem, and the zinc coated one you have to worry about zinc flaking as I think it is poison to us if ingested.
I hesitated on posting this as I feel this is a marketable item, but I hesitate to try it due to the small market, and liability involved if some little kid got near it.
So, what would you guys pay for this knowing it works every bit as good as the hand crank mixers and cleans up in a minute? Labor was not bad but time consuming but I do have one guy already begging me for one and if I make one, i may make more but I cant do too many of these at work... so i would have to do it at home and that would require getting a different tank for my MIG welder for stainless.
