I got a 40" Masterbuilt on a friend's recommendation. I wanted to be able to cold smoke though. I added a Smoke Daddy, the Big Kahuna model. I drilled a 7/8" hole in the bottom of a Campbell's soup can for the adapter. It fits nicely in the hole for the chip hopper. I use it for hot or cold smoke now. If I am cold smoking, I just leave the Masterbuilt's element off. It will smoke for 3 or so hours on a load, and I never have to open the door until the meat thermometer reads the target temperature. I have done Nova Lox, cheese, 4 Turkeys, a couple of USDA Prime Sirloins a brisket, of course. Gonna make my first sausage this weekend. I am really liking this rig.

I have one of them, but quit using it.
I couldn't get it to run the amount of smoke I wanted.
I either got creosote or it would stall.
Some guys say it works good for them.
I must be too dumb.
AMNS are made for us dummies.
Best of luck to you, Snarl',

You might contact the Smoke Daddy folks. I understand they have made some changes to make them work better than they did at first. The first one I got had a broken aquarium pump. I emailed him and he sent a new one and a big bag of pellets for make up for the inconvenience. Didn't even ask for the broken one back. Nice folks to do bidness with. One thing I have learned is that you have to really shoot some heat to it to get it going. I use one of the Bernz-o-matic mini torches (the same one I use to light my cigars). I have an oxy-acetylene rig, but that seems like a bit of overkill.A few of my favorite things:

It's portable as hell and it doesn't take up any room inside the cooker.
I actually have 3 cookers I connect mine too, 1 of them is at my dad's house. He came up with the idea to use a quick connection, the type that is used on a natural gas line. WORKS GREAT!!!
Not only does it make the smoke daddy more versatile, but also keeps the creosote INSIDE the unit or the connector area.Mark

Anyway, this is why you see smokedaddy installed at the bottom end of all units...so the creosote will not drip on the food or food racks.
Mine forms creosote with every use. And, at the same time, it burns it to a brittle with every use as well. There is a trick to using one, but i wouldn't give mine up for anything....except maybe a brand new one.Mark

I posted this response in another thread and it looks appropriate for this one too.
I have the Smoke Daddy Big Kahuna and am up in the air about my opinion of it so far. I do know that it will not burn 6-8 hours like it is advertised no matter what you do. More like 2-3 hrs I had issues with lighting at first but now I use 2 lit charcoal briquets in the bottom then add my chips. Works great like that. I also added a small adjustable aquarium pump valve to the line to control the air flow better. You have to pull the top off and add chips before it goes out or you will need a screw driver to pry the top off. For cleaning it I use a small wire wheel that is at 90* to the drill you insert it in and "brush" out the inside. Wait until the unit cools off and clean it then. Once the buildup hardens it buffs off easily You will need a drill bit extension to reach inside the unit. I also use the wheel to buff off the build-up on the cover and bottom where it contacts the main body. The best time to clean the pipe that enters the main smoker compartment is when it is hot yet push a dowel rod through the pipe like cleaning a gun. The creosote pushes right out then. If I were to do it over again and the AMazen unit would have been around when I bought the Smoke Daddy, I probably would have bought the AMazen.
