I'm a newbie to this site and need some advice on smoking whole crappie. I'm talking about scaled and gutted, with the head removed. I've fast smoked filets over a hot grill using non-stick aluminum foil, which is really good. I'm wanting to smoke some whole crappie in my Masterbuilt electric smoker. Thanks for any advice.

Thanks guys, I crappie fish at least a couple times a week and fry filets as well as whole fish a lot. I agree, with a plate of hushpuupys, it's hard to beat. I'm just looking for new ways to cook my catch.Attached Files

Not gonna turn out as good as you think.... crappie is a bit low in fat, and doesn't catch the smoke as well as a greasy fleshed fils like trout, salmon or bullhead, and adding the extra layer of skin will make it even more so....Once you go Weber....you never call customer service....
