  • Smokin' Lil Smokies

I was digging around in the frig this morning after I popped a pork butt in the Longhorn... I wanted to have some snacks during the afternoon and found a few items that should fit right in nicely in anyone's arsenal of appetizers..

You need just a few players to pull this off...

    1 Package Lil Smokies
    1 Package Cheap Bacon
    Toothpicks
    Your Favorite Hot Pepper Seasoning

Let the bacon warm a bit at room temp.. Makes it easy to stretch..

Sprinkle on your hot peppers seasoning...

Place your Lil Smokie on one end and roll it one and one half turns...

Once you have done that cut the bacon right next to the smokie and insert toothpick through both sides..

You should get around 3 - 4 smokies per strip of bacon...

    Place in the 250° smoker.....

After about 30-40 minutes they should be done.. Platter up with your favorite sauce... It can be Honey Mustard, BBQ Sauce or like me Chipotle Sauce.. Makes for a fast easy snack and easy on the pocket book for those throwing a party...

    Enjoy!!!!
    Ken

Wish I'd seen this earlier. Too late for a run to Sam's now since company is on the way over. Guess we're stuck with chicken Wicked Baked Beans for tonight. Thanks for the idea, Ken. I'll use it next time.

Yep, these are good. I have to do them for my wife when I do ABT"s.

She don't like jalapenos Seasonings may vary from dry, to a favorite BBQ, or what ever I'm using at the time.

I just did that last week, but I just put them in the toaster oven, and they were still good.
